Kindly Suggest Your Advices On MDT Treatment
Question: Hello Doctor,
My father had leprosy .He has taken MDT treatment for one and half year and he also taken wysolone treatment when he got downgrading reactions . Currently he was not taking any medicines .from last one month he again has swelling at legs and joint stiffness and skin becomes more scaly and dry and weakness in Hands and legs .
could please tell me why these are occurring again and what will be tha treatment for these symptoms.kindly suggest your advices on this.

The wysolone medication should not be stopped abruptly and should be tapered down .As you mention that the symptoms have re occurred I would recommend a dermatologist opinion for further evaluation and treatment plan as it looks like relapse leprosy.
