Hi,
Thanks for the additional information.
You can take Bentyl for relief from cramps.
Continue with the enema and Colace to ease your bowel movements.
You need to have an ultrasound scan done to look for more kidney stones as you have cramps and blood in urine.

The bowel movements are returning gradually, with the help of enemas and Colase. No, an ultrasound was not done. Just a manual examination of my abdominal area.

Thank you for your response. I had a CT scan while I was in the emergency room passing the stone. Would that also have shown other stones? What can be done if other stones show up?
Does my having blood in my urine now mean that I must have more stones?

Hi,
If CT scan was done, that would have shown other stones as well.
Can you upload the CT scan report here.

Thank you Dr. Kini. I am on my way over to the hospital to see if I can get a copy of my CT scan report. I must say, the ER Room provided me with very little information when I was checked out.

I have uploaded the report from my CT Scan done on Sept. 9.

Hi,
As per the CT scan report there was a stone in the left ureter. Did you pass that stone only?

Hi,
As per the CT scan report, you had just one stone which you have passed.
If there is still blood in urine you may have to consult an Urologist.

I did have blood in my urine, but that stopped after about six days.
In mid-July I had started to take Calcium & Vit D3 tablets - 600 mg - one per day for my bones. Could that have caused the kidney stone? (Unfortunately I was not able to capture the stone when it passed - so I don't know what kind of stone it was - but this seems quite coincidental to me. )

Hi,
You are taking calcium and vitamin D supplements because you are probably deficient .
If that is the case, it is unlikely that these supplements would have caused the stone to form in the urinary tract.
