Question: Last week I ate some food and the next day my stomach was in so much pain and the lymph nodes under my arms are swollen and my back really hurts. Can the food poisoning be causing the swollen nodes and back pain? I dont have a fever

Brief Answer:
Bacterial infection very likely.

Detailed Answer:
Hi there,
Thanks for query,
In simple language lymph nodes are security check points of our body. If any pathogen enters the main stream vessels of body they filter it out and contains it( hence swells up).
Pain and lymph node involvement is suggestive of infection.
Fever may also follow after a few days once your body fighter cells starts to lose fight against pathogens.
I need results of two tests before answering if food poisioning is a cause or not.
1)Complete blood count(Any lab would do it basic test).
2)Serum procalcitonin- to look for extent of infection.
As antibiotics are not available over the counter suggestion for them would be given after these reports.
As lymph nodes are swollen you would need antibiotics that's for sure.
Follow up with reports.
Thank you.
