Last Year I Was Having Stomach Related Issues. I Believed
This past year has been much better. Much less discomfort after staying regular with fiber.
However; while it was really bad, I was having irregular bowel movements. With many irregularities. Some would be kinda gooey and stringy looking. Some looks to have “fuzz” for lack of better term. Looking into similar images online I felt that what I had looked to be a candida overgrowth. There were times that I’d notice long stringy parts in my stool I feared were parasites, but when I pulled them out with toilet paper, they were gooey and didn’t really have a solid shape to them. If I i pinched it between two pieces of toilet paper, it’d pull apart all stringy and gooey kinda like mucus.
Today after having little to no problems the past half year or better, I had a concerning bowel movement. Yesterday and today my abdomen has felt tight again. While I feel lost or there’s gas moving, I haven’t really been able to use the restroom. Yesterday I had a slight bit of diarrhea but didn’t really feel better after. Today after breakfast, I felt like I had to go prettty bad. When I went, just a small lump came out and nothing more. But before I flushed I noticed something odd about it. I then unraveled a long stringy piece from it and I’m afraid of it being a parasite. I took a picture and am hoping I can get a doctor to look at it. My pcp’s office is closed and I can’t get ahold of them to fix my online log in.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome to HCM.
Thank you for your query.
I understand your concern.
Well looks like you have a sensitive / irritable intestine.
But before that worthwhile ensuring other issues like inflammation in intestine or infection do not co exist. If possible can get stool routine and occult blood on three different occasions to rule them out if it can be done there.
Also since fiber supplements helped you worthwhile continuing them regularly.
Also a course of albendazole for 2 days and rifaximin for 7 days after consulting your doctor should help.
try following things which will help you in long run.
1. eat on time
2 exercise regularly
3 go for regular walk
4 sleep adequately for 8 hrs
5 avoid stress
6 avoid coffee, aerated drinks, tobacco, smoking, alcohol if any.
7 avoid sleeping or lying down 2 hours after meals
8 take small frequent meals rich in fibers like fruits salads etc.
9 do some yoga and mind relaxation techniques
10 stop worrying about your bowels too much try to divert your attention.
all this will help you in long run.
hope this answers your query.
happy to help
wish you a speedy recovery.
