Brief Answer:
There can be several causes. Require further evaluation.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your query and here is my advice.

As per your history, there can be several causes for jaw clicking sound along with pain i.e jaw popping. Considering your age 69 years I think it may be due to arthritis.

Still Kindly follow up with a bit more information,
Do you have other joint pains, swelling of left side of cheek, fever, teeth misalignment/loose teeth, ulcer in the mouth, any mass or growth inside mouth?

For detailed clinical examination I will suggest you to consult with ENT specialist. He may procure complete blood count, X Ray/ultrasound as per evaluation to rule out salivary gland infection/any chronic condition.

Till then apply ice pack. You can take tablet Acetaminophen or advil. Take soft food.

Hope I have answered your query. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Brief Answer:
Please do MRI after orthopaedic surgeon consultation...

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for your reply.

As per your detailed history, I think jaw popping may be related to your temporo-mandibular joint (TMJ)

It may be due to joint disc or soft tissue /connective tissue issues.

So for further evaluation, I would suggest to do MRI after orthopaedic surgeon consultation.

Hope I have answered your query. Please let me know if I can assist you further.
