Question: Male 29 years old. Ultrasound 1.5 years ago. Found a minor varicocele.

Hi I have this lumpy feeling on the back/bottom of my left testicle. To try to describe it then it feels like a lump running string on the backside which ends in a little bumb/knot at the bottom of my testicle. When it's worst I also feel a stingy and pulling sensation in the area.

I feel like it's worst during showers and especially when I sit down a lot over a period of days. Sometimes I also feel the pain after sleeping in the worst days.

Im not sure if I can move it, but it feels like I can move it a bit. And I have tried a couple of time where it was in the front of the testicle instead of the back, but I'm not sure if this is caused by the testicle turning slightly or what happened.

I think it changes in size but again its hard to determine if it's just moving because of the position of the testicle. But I do think it gets smaller some days and can be harder to feel when I lay down. But it's never totally gone.

As mentioned first time I found it I went to the doctor and was told I had a varicocele and no mass or any irregularity was found and kidneys were fine too. I'm just getting a little worried since it can be big some times and a little uncomfortable. Because of all the lumpy feeling I find it hard to notice changes but I think everything is feeling normal except this but I wonder if this is the varicocele I feel?

Can a varicocele be at the bottom of the testicle in the epididymis? I read mostly it's in the above area but I feel the bag of worms there and the lumps at the bottom of the testicle.

Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Consult qualified Urologist for clinical examination in person

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for query .

Based on what you have described about having a lump at the bottom of testis it could be due to one of the following three things
1) Varicocele
2) Epididymal Cyst
3) Chronic Epididymal infection (Chronic Epididymitis )

However the diagnosis can be confirmed only on clinical examination by a qualified Urologist and following two tests
1) Ultrasound Scanning of scrotum
2) Color Doppler study of scrotum .

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions,I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.
