Question: I had melanoma about 2 years ago and it was cut out and removed. I have a mole in the middle on the back of my neck. It started getting sore and hair has been falling out of it at a high rate. It is going up into my regular hair causing a real mess. I can't get the hair to stop coming out of the mole no matter what. I had kidney cancer in 2006 and lost a sister to melanoma in 1997. I don't get overly worried about cancer but this hair falling out of the mole is really annoying.

It has took me a while to figure out where the hairs were coming through because they got so tangled up in my hair on my head and they seem to be everywhere on the upper part of my body. My question is the hairs are colorless and different textures but lighter weight than hair on head. I went to my doctor a couple of months ago and at that time I didn't know they were coming from the mole but the mole had been sore for a while. He told me I was imagining the hair but if I brought in an example he would put it under microscope. He really thought it was all in my imagination. I did take him a sample a few weeks later and the nurse called to say it was hair, which I already knew but still didn't know it was from the mole.

The mole has been there a very long time and doctors have never throught it looked suspicious. As I stated earlier I have had a lot of XXXXXXX cells and melanoma previous but required no radiation or chemo.

Do you still feel like there is an urgency since the hairs from the mole are not like hair on head. As I mentioned they have no color and different textures and lighter weight. This has went on for about a couple of months and it is unbelievable how much hair has come out and has tangled in my hair on head and seems to be going on arms and back and neck. I just need to know if this is possible just from a mole. Please read carefully and see if you still feel this way or is it just in my mind.
