Question: My 1 year old granddaughter had fever of 102.7 this afternoon
Took to pediatrician who said double ear infection
Gave her Tylenol and prescription

Temperature went down to 100.7

Seemed good until early evening fever up again to almost 103

Gave her Tylenol, and cool, compress and temperature down

She seems comfortable
A little congested
Sleeping now
I’m worried

On a separate note...

She and her 3 year old brother have been outside in parks
1 year old in stroller

My daughter let my 3 year old grandson touch and sit on benches .

With th covid virus would touching outside park furniture and sitting grass be dangerous ?

Thank you

He seems good.

Brief Answer:
It can be transmitted by touching everything including benches on park .

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor's service.
I read your query and here is my advice.

A lot is not known about covid19 and about how long it lives in different kind of surfaces because it is not behaving like a normal virus.
Covid19 may need 2 -14 days before showing any symptoms.
If your grandson touched it on park he may have needed some days to develop it himself and then transmit it to the baby or other people in family . Let's say 7 days may be needed.
Kids usually have mild symptoms or no symptoms at all from covid19.

I don't think this fever your grandaughter has developed may be related to covid19 .
If any other member of family develop symptoms you should do the test to confirm it.
Yet covid19 can be transmitted by touching everything including benches on park and sitting on grass.

Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Brief Answer:
No covid19 test needed.

Detailed Answer:
I don't the child should be tested neither anyone of you should be tested. There is not much risk that she may have covid19 that's why testing her is not necessary.
All the world is practising self quarantine and you should do also.
If anyone in your family develops fever, cough, sorethroat, body ache etc you may need to do covid19 tests.

Brief Answer:
Give her acetaminophen or ibuprofen for fever.

Detailed Answer:
I don't think this is covid19 but can be ear infection. You should consult her pediatrician because she may need to start an antibiotic.
Make sure to give her acetaminophen or ibuprofen alternating every 3 -4 hours.
Give acetaminophen for fever below 38.5 °C and over it ibuprofen.

Brief Answer:
He doesn't need the rest also.

Detailed Answer:
I think he will be ok and I don't believe this can be covid19. If anyone in the family develops any symptoms you can ask for a test.
Also I can recommend you to do self quarantine to protect yourself and everyone else around you.
All the word is in self quarantine these days do you should avoid going out.
