My 12year Old Son Just Started To Show Visible Veins
Question: My 12year old son just started to show visible veins in both arms. He plays ice hockey and he stick handles every day. What is causing this to occur? We have not done anything about it. Do we need to be concerned?
Brief Answer:
It is normal and nothing to worry
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
Prominent hand veins is not a sign of medical illness and need not to worry at all.
People with fair complexion and people with less body fat will have more prominent veins.
It has nothing to do with ice hockey or physical activities,
If he has pain and tenderness along the course of veins, it has to be evaluated and conditions like thrombophlebitis has to be considered.
Wishing all the best.
Thanks
