My 18 Year Old Daughter Drank XXXXXXX Floor Cleaner Yesterday
Question: My 18 year old daughter drank XXXXXXX floor cleaner yesterday evng at 4.30, i made her drink lot of warm water with salt an she puked an all the cleaner came out. Then around 6.30 p.m took her 2 hospital where her abdomen xray an ultrasound was done. The surgery doc saw the reports an said she would have 2 be admitted so they could put her on drip, but first sent us to ENT 2 check damage on throat. ENT doc checked her an said no need for admitting, with betadine gargles an few antibiotic she would be ok. So we informed the surgery doc v wouldn't want her 2 be admitted an on our risk brought her home.
Tday she's having difficulty in drinking water also. Plz help

Hii. I am really sorry for the incident. Please consult an ENT surgeon and as Gastrosurgeon. They should check the larynx and food pipe with the help of endoscopy. In the meantime continue the antibiotic,an antacid,betadine gargle. Encourage drinking plenty of water. Avoid hot food. Try to give cold liquids. Monitor her urine output. Do a chest X ray. If she complains of breathing difficulty then take her to emergency department. If she can't take orally then she needed to be admitted. Hope she will get well soon.
