Question: My 20-year-old son just accidentally took 40 mg of his dad’s lisinopril before bed. My son does takes Zoloft 200 mg, and he did tonight, too. I understand he might be dizzy and tired. How dangerous is it?Should I be trying to wake him regularly?
Brief Answer:
As explained below
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
There are no interactions between lisinopril and Zoloft. But a non-hypertensive person taking anti-hypertensive drugs can reduce the BP. It is a water-soluble drug and hence even if he is sleeping it is advisable to wake him up every 1 to 2 hrs and give him lots of fluids so that it gets flushed out. He should have around 3 to 4 lts of fluids which includes juice and water. Lemon juice with a pinch of salt is best to increase his BP.
In case his BP is drastically dropping it is best to go to the ER for further management.
I hope this answered your query.
