Question: My 24 y/o son came to me complaining with pain in his lower back on the right side. The pain wraps around to the middle of his right side. He had just become nauseous and vomited. He told me he was taking Asprin for the pain, which I told him to stop immediately and gave him 2 acetaminophen 650mg (thats all I had at the time). Told him to increase his water also. He is a maintenance man at a large store and has pulled muscles before (he said that it feels like that).

Brief Answer:
Kidney stone should be excluded

Detailed Answer:
Hi
As per your description,it could be a Kidney stone or Ureteric stone.Ultrasound abdomen will give a clue.
If Ultrasound abdomen is normal, then we can think of Musculoskeletal pain. Here, simple Acetaminophen will not give Complete and fast relief.Skeletal muscle relaxant tablet containing Thiocolchicoside will help.
Nothing to worry.
Please consult your doctor and get an Ultrasound abdomen.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions,I will clarify further.
Wish him good health and speedy recovery.
Regards
