Hi XXXXXXX
Welcome to Ask A Doctor service.
Going through your question and seeing the picture, this looks like a plantar wart.
To be sure, I would like to get few more details:
1. When did you notice this?
2. Did this follow any trauma, like stepping on to a stone?
3. Was the colour black right from the beginning, or any change in colour?
4. Is the lesion painful?
5. Did you attempt to remove it by scrapping or peeling over the lesion(this can change the colour)?
Kindly get back with details, so that I can guide you better
Thank you

Hello Dr. Aslam,
Here are answers:
1. I noticed the bump a couple of months ago but it wasn’t black at that time.
2. There was no trauma
3. It has changed colour - was originally skin colour but now black
4. She complained of pain on the spot a few weeks ago at bed time, but doesn’t complain about it now
5. No, I have not tried to remove or scrape it
Hope that helps

Brief Answer:
Likely Plantar Wart
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
Thanks for the details given.
This is likely a plantar wart(Verruca)- a skin infection caused by the Human Papilloma virus.
Many of this(>50%) will disappear in 1-2 years spontaneously without any treatment. When treatment is needed(for pain, ulceration/bleeding, cosmetic reason), this is better guided by a dermatologist(chemical or laser treatment). There are some acidic preparations available for use at home(like salicylic acid), but these needs prescription, and we have to handle with extreme care to avoid burns over normal skin/eyes/mouth of children. These are very strong acids.
I hope this answer will help
