Question: My 89 yo Mother is being treated for Bronchitis. She has had 2 different antibiotics, albuterol, advair, and prednisone to combat the breathing difficulties. She was in ED again yesterday for wheezing and a chest x-ray. x-ray clear but today i noticed rosy cheeks. She has no fever, should I be concerned?

Brief Answer:
not likely a concern in the absence of fever, may be medication

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Increased redness of the skin can occur with fever, it can also be as a result of one of the medications that she is using to treat her bronchitis.

Prednisone for example can also cause temporary flushing of the cheek, so it is possible that the changes are related to this instead since there is no documented fever at the moment.

It should resolve on its own and it is not a problem at this time unless there are other issues, if there are any other symptoms that you find concerning then feel free to ask.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
