Irrespective of treatment it usually spontaneously resolves in 5-7 days. Some children are more prone to catching cold and recurrent episodes are seen. Often such viral infections manifest with fever. If your child is otherwise active and playful, I would not be concerned. If that had not been the case, it would have be a good idea to visit a doctor and to get the child evaluated.
If your child has fever with temperature more than 100°F, you need to give paracetamol or acetaminophen (P-250, Crocin or Tylenol) to it bring down. Also use tepid sponging. The fever may still recur after a while and that is nothing unusual.
Please be patient. It may take a few days for the recovery to occur. It should spontaneously resolve in 5-7 days.
