Brief Answer:
Please provide some more information.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for using "Ask a doctor" service.

From what you are describing I recommend that you need treatment for diabetes and also the high blood pressure. Do you get treatment for those problems?
Please provide some more information and I will be happy to help with proper advice.

What medicines do you take for both problems and in what dose?
How much is your blood pressure usually?

If you are taking medication for diabetes then it is not enough and you either need another medicine or need to start on insulin.

How long have you been diagnosed with diabetes? How long since you are taking a treatment?

Looking forward to your follow up question.

Kind regards,

Well I put in all my meds on my profile.
Simvastatin 10 mg metformin 50mgx2
Hydroxyzine 50mg sertraline 100 mgx2
Lisinopril 10mg lamotrgine 150mg
Metoprolol 100mg aripiprazole 20mg
I have been diabetic for a year now. I am on 15 units a night of insulin called Lantus Solostar. My blood pressure has been normal with the meds I take. But right now it is 152/84. My blood sugar is 393 right now. I took my insulin 30 mins before taking my blood sugar. I need to know if I should go to the ER or wait to see my provider tomorrow. I am not satisfied with her treatment plan.

Brief Answer:
No need to go to the ER

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for the follow up question.

You do not need to go to the ER. Neither diabetes nor high blood pressure are high as to be considered an emergency.

But for sure you need to add or change some medicines for both diabetes and high blood pressure. I am not going to suggest changes because it is good that the doctor that follows you to do those changes and see their effect in the coming time.

I hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Papaqako
