Question: My boy child is 6 years old, he is having skin irritation and skin swelling (feels li'l pain on touching the swelling. Swell happens after he itches his body parts like head, hands, stomach, back, face etc ) When he was between three-four years old, these sysmptoms used to happen whenever he used to get fever. From 4 years of his age till four months before (november 2020), he did not face any of these issues (after he was prescibed T allegra and syp A-Z, when he was 4 years of age ) In november 2020, he got pentaxim, tresivac vaccine ( we suspect this time it happened because of vaccine ) and these symptoms started again. One day we observed (December 2020) he got these symptoms after eating egg, we stopped egg for him and symtoms stopped. On 27th January 2021 he got one more vaccination which is typbar, tcv, varilix and symptoms started again. We finally met with homeopathic doctor few days back and he prescibed medicines to him but again symptoms increased ( we have stopped homeopathic medicines today ). We are really worried about our child health, please suggest the right direction to us now. Note:- whenever he has symptoms then we give atarax syrup to him and symptoms gets decreased, but it did not work while taking homeopathic medicine.

Brief Answer:
Avoidance of known allergens and anti allergens help

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for asking on this platform

I have gone through the details and do understand your concern.
Here you child is sensitive to different vaccines and food items.
Skin manifestation you have mentioned is urticaria and is characteristic of allergic reaction.
Usually these symptoms improve as the child grows.
I would suggest you to give antiallergic like fexofenadine with allergy controlling agent like montelukast.
The dose of fexofenadine for this would be 30 mg and montelukast is 4 mg.Combination is available in many brands. This should be taken for long term may be for a year under doctors supervision.
Extra precaution should be taken before any vaccination as there is prior history of allergy with vaccines.
Similarly eggs, nuts and other items which can cause allergy should be avoided.
I can comment much for homeopathic medicines but if baby is not tolerating homeopathic medicine better not to give that.
I hope this helps.
please let me know if you have any more doubt.
Regards

Thanks for your reply doctor. I forgot to mention one more thing, child did not have any allergy to egg when he did not display any symptom from the age of four till Nov 2020 (got vaccination in this month ). We are not very sure about this though, but not resuming on eggs due to fear.

If you still think we should go with above two mentioned medicines for one year ( what supervision of doctor is required here? ) then please let us know exactly how to take it in a prescription format.

Thanks again.

Brief Answer:
I won't suggest you to give egg to the baby

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Sorry for delayed reply and thanks for follow up

Egg allergy is common in childhood and in some babies it can develop in later childhood.
As there is already history of allergy to other things I won't suggest you to give egg to the baby now.
Please consult an immunologist for allergen test.In allergen sensitivity test, child will be exposed to small amount of various allergen to see if any reaction appears. Avoiding the culprit allergens and taking combination medicine of fexofenadine/levocetrizine and montelukast will help in such condition.
You can give Montclair lc kid tablet once a day for 2 months it contains montelukast 4 mg and levocetrizine 2.5 mg .
I hope this helps.
