My Boyfriend And I Are On Vacation In Florida, Scheduled

Question: My boyfriend and I are on vacation in Florida, scheduled to return home tomorrow morning. He’s developed a cough in the last 24 hours and woke up with a fever this morning. Given the concern with COVID-19, and him having two of the supposed main symptoms, should I take him to the emergency room, an urgent care facility, or take him to his family doctor when we get home tomorrow?
Brief Answer:
Yes better to do the test
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service.
I can understand your concern.
In such a condition it is not meant that he might have COVID because even a common cold or flu has a fever.
However, for safety given the global situation of the pandemic, I recommend yes to send him to ER for the test to be done and to be sure for you to travel.
Hope to have been helpful
