Brief Answer:
Might need evaluation

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
Welcome to Ask A Doctor service
I understand your concern

A loss of speech developed/ arrest of further progression might suggest a language development disorder. The most common one in this category is autism spectrum disorders (ASD). In this disorder, children fails to acquire language skills, won’t be interested in social interaction and group play with peers and may show some stereotypical behaviour/interests. Also, we need a basic hearing evaluation.

So I would suggest you to take him to a developmental pediatrician or pediatric neurologist for evaluation. Until then, no reason to worry. Keep talking to him, encourage to ply with other children of same age and limit screen time to maximum 2 hours a day

I hope this answer will help

Have succesfully done Bera test.
Done speech classes for last 8 months
He is very eager to attend classes but fear that he may harm other child with his sometimes aggressive behavior when things doesn't go according to his desire.

Brief Answer:
So hearing is fine, but need other evaluation mentioned

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
It is good that he has passed the BERA test, indicating intact hearing.

But, as I mentioned earlier, he deserves a formal screening for ASD or other language developmental disorders. Speech therapy might be helpful, but need to be combined with behavioral/developmental intervention after the said evaluation. Speech delay when associated with behavioral issues, needs evaluation without further delay, and speech therapy alone is not sufficient in such cases.

Kindly proceed to a developmental pediatrician or pediatric neurologist. The workup and followup is best done in a tertiary center dealing with children with developmental delay or behavioral issues.

Hope I have answered your query.
If you need further clarification, I will be happy to help

Thank you
