Question: My dad is 56 YO. He is suffering from left arm pain from 3 days. He says it is not that painful and it comes and goes sometimes. My dad has already taken the ecg and other heart related tests on march 3rd.2020. In that everything was normal and the doctor said not to worry and if we want we can go for test after 6 months. We went for that test because he was having some gastric problems like stomach bloating and some times leg swelling and the leg swelling used to reduce after walking for few minutes. Now that he is having this left arm pain We thought it might be related to heart problem and went to a doctor yesterday. The doctor tested the BP which was normal and also looked at the report and said it's not related to heart. ECG report was from March 3rd 2020 and also he took one more heart related test on March 18, 2020. But my doubt is can we just say that the pain is not related to heart by seeing that report. Is that report still valid as it's already been 2 months since the test was taken. And few more things: my dad does not smoke and also he doesnot drink, he does not have bp, sugar or diabetes. He is telling he is not having any chest pain. He just having left arm pain that is also not sever yesterday he said he was feeling nauseous but later he did not mention anything about it. My question is the pain related to heart? And that how long is the ECG report valid?

Detailed Answer:
Hello

After going through the medical details provided by you I can understand your concern for your father‘s health and I would like to tell you that yes the symptoms could be because of underlying cardiac problem or could be simply because of cervical spondylitis so I would like to advise you to kindly consult an orthopaedician first and get a cervical x ray done to rule out spondylitis if there is no cervical issues then you can consult a cardiologist personally and get the TMT or a stress echocardiogram done to rule out underlying cardiac pathology.

Kind Regards
