My Daughter Had A 3D Mammogram Wednesday. They Have Found
Question: My daughter had a 3D mammogram Wednesday. They have found an abnormality in her left breast. She has had an inverted nipple since her daughter was born in 2011. She also has a son that is 22 months old. Her father died of a glioblastomia in 2005. She is so upset but can't get an appt until Tuesday. She feels because of the introverted nipple it is cancer. Are there anything other than cancer that could cause this? She has not had a mammo since before her daughter was born.

Of course there are different breast diseases other than cancer that cause inverted nipple. Other than cancer it may be caused by fibradenoma ( benign tumours), ductectasia (widening of milk ducts), trauma when cicatrix is formed retracting nipple.
Taking count of her quite long history of inverted nipple (7 years) it sounds as a benign cause because a cancer should have given many other symptoms earlier.
