My Daughter Has A Lump Under Her Skin On Her
Question: My daughter has a lump under her skin on her head. It's not painful except for when it gets touched and is causing her frequent headaches. She says it "feels like her brain is being squeezed". It's not red or inflamed. She's had it for 3 months now. Currently she's had an ultrasound completed but we're waiting on the test results.
Brief Answer:

Hi....
Welcome to "Ask a Doctor"service.
I am Dr Ajeet XXXXXXX
I have gone through your query and here is my opinion.
Most common cause of a lump on head is a lipoma or a sebaceous cyst which cause a heaviness and dragging sensation and are painful, when they get infected. They are absolutely benign and the consistency would be revealed by an ultrasound.
They need to be differentiated from the other benign and malignant tumours of head and this may require a brain scan (CT or MRI) and FNAC/Biopsy.
Please share the ultrasound scan report and I would help you to decide about the further course of action.
Happy living.
Regards.
