Question: My daughter has generalized flushing of the skin. She has a history of Henoch Shenlins purpura and the HELLP Syndrome during pregnancy. currently she is agoraphobic with panic attacks which makes her basically housebound. She has not worked in years and is currently obese. To my knowledge she has not sought any help.
Brief Answer:
Take betablockers and apply brimonidine
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Flushing of the skin is a result of increased blood flow.
Whenever there is more blood flow to an area of skin the blood vessels enlarge to compensate.
This enlargement is what gives skin flushing effect.
Since your daughter also has history of hellp syndrome and agoraphobia they may cause it to be more
I would advise her to take beta blocker group of drugs with doctors advise
Also apply brimonidine locally on the ares of flushing which will reduce it
Regards

Could her symptoms be indicative of another auto immune disease, perhaps hemolysis causing flushing
Why an oncologist? I requested a Hemotologist.
Brief Answer:
If it is more then many days then it is not auto immune disease

I beg to differ. Purpura lasted weeks with new symptoms every day.
I ask again why an oncologist and not a hemotoligist.
Brief Answer:
Blood test for auto antibodies as well as CRP and ESR
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I do not think you are having auto immune disease
But i would advise you to do blood tests for auto antibodies as well as CRP and ESR to rule out anything serious as auto immune disease
Regards.
