Question: My daughter is having nasal congestion and dry cough n throat irritation.. plz suggest the medicines. She is 11yrs old..

Hi

Dry cough,throat irritation and nasal congestion without fever is mainly due to some allergy.
I would like to know if anyone in family is also suffering from same or any past history of fever.
In this COVID pandemic if there is past history of fever,family history of similar complaint or contact with covid patient; please get her tested for covid.
Giving cough syrup containing antiallergic, decongestant and cough suppressant like chlorpheniramine, phenylephrine and dextromethorphan like chericof or XXXXXXX syrup 5 ml two to three times a day for 5 days will help.
Steam inhalation and gargle with warm saline will help in early recovery.

Thank you for your response.She is also complaining of ear blockage.. Is this medication enough.. thank you once again..

We need not to do anything specific for ear blockage as it will subside with same treatment.
