Question: My doctor gave me a target weight of 174 on my last medical record. I'm 183 now and I'm having trouble losing the last 9 lbs.. I lost the first 16 lbs. quickly, about 2 lbs. a week. I lift weights about 2 times a week and try to put in 150 min. of cardio weekly. How do I lose the last 9 lbs.? I"m 43, male, 5'10", overall healthy.

Brief Answer:
Include dietary changes along with exercise

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for trusting us with your health question

It is very common for weight loss to plateau after losing the initial few pounds. So in order to regain momentum with weight loss, it is important to include changes in your already established exercise/diet regime.

Since you have already been doing cardio and weight training, I would also suggest including some dietary changes as well. You can try a low carbohydrate high protein diet which would also go well with weight training.

And since you are weight training, please don't be too worried if you are not losing weight as fast as in the beginning, as it may partly be due to more muscle mass building.
