Question: My doctor tells me I have chronic kidney disease. What does it mean? Where are my kidneys in my body. I do have back pain, however, thought it was arthritis, which is throughout my body. How do I handle kidney disease/.

I read your query and here is my advice.
Having chronic kidney disease means that you have gradual loss of kidney function. Your kidneys filter wastes and excess fluids from your blood, which are then excreted in your urine and if you have chronic kidney disease that reaches an advanced stage, dangerous levels of fluid, electrolytes and wastes can build up in your body.
Arthritis you are having may be the main cause of back pain. Chronic kidney disease doesn't give much back pain.
You can handle it by:
Using blood pressure lowering medications because impaired kidney function can lead to I creased blood pressure.
Diuretics can relieve swelling and lower blood pressure too.
Also you may be suffering from anemia because of kidney disease and doctor may inject you erythropetine.
Keeping a low protein diet is advisable.
If the kidney disease is advanced you may be needed dialysis.
