Question: My eyes get very dry during the night so I applied Carboxymethylcellulose eye drops before sleeping. After a few hours I woke up with burning eyes. My eyes were red upon waking up. Please advise if I should continue taking the eye drops? Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Drops are not for night

Detailed Answer:
Hello

After going through the medical query raised by you I can understand your concern and I would like to tell you that eyedrops are Best suitable during daytime and it’s advisable that Methyl Cellulose artificial tear drops should be used at least 5 to 6 times in a day however if you want to use at night drops are not preferable.

For night application ointments are best suitable of same composition. It’s advisable that you should use ointment at night and see If redness persists then you should consult an ophthalmologist personally of proper physical examination.

Kind Regards
