Brief Answer:
About Diabetes treatment and chronic complications;
Detailed Answer:
Hello snd thank you for asking!
I can understand your concern regarding to your father's health.
The blood sugar is too high and the only alternative remained is starting insulin.
It is the only therapy that can lower HbA1c at 7% at the shortest period possible. So you need to see s physician and start insulin as soon as possible.
Regarding to leg cramps, they may be due to arterial stenosis (a chronic complication of Diabetes), so an ultrasound of periferic vessels would help to confirm it and the angiologist may suggest arterial stents to improve the circulation.
Hope the information will help.
Best wishes,
