Question: My friend is suffering from stomach ache and vomiting, the doctor did ultrasound scans which showed gallbladder stone size of 4.2mm. The doctor suggested to undergo surgical operation rather than laser, with laser gallbladder stone could come back. My question is, it necessary to undergo any surgery? we went to different 2 doctors from different private hospitals in Philippines to double check her condition. please check the attached scans.

Brief Answer:
Surgery most likely not necessary

Detailed Answer:
Hi Bozeepro,

If your friend has not had complications to the gallstones (cholecystitis, cholangitis, pancreatitis) and is not suffering from many recurrent attacks, surgery is not necessary. Analgesics such as diclofenac may suffice.

Hope this helps.

Please look at the seconds results we had specifically the size of the gallstone which is 0.8CM, would it be possible to use natural remedy to dissolve it? would you suggest any naturally remedy and what natural remedy you recommend?

Brief Answer:
It is completely benign

Detailed Answer:
Hi again Bozeepro,

Thank you for the update and reports. The size of the gallstone is not very important, there are no scientific data to suggest that any medicine or home remidies (including natural medicine) can dissolve the gallstone. Very likely, your friend will never have problems with his gallstone again. And gallstones are completely benign, most of us die WITH gallstones, never having noticed them.

Hope this helps.
