Question: My fvie year old boy was hit in the head with an ice ball three weeks ago and the huge lump is still there. He visited the dr and the emt at the hospital and they said it was the lymph node enlarged and hard. He has an appt. with a specialist later this week but I would like to know what thoughts are about it.

Brief Answer:
Where exactly is this lump located?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks so much for this query.

I have reviewed this information fully. I'd like to know where this lump is located.

From the surrounding circumstances, it is unlikely to be a lymph node. If possible, please send an image of this lump to me for review. You can simply upload/attach it to the 'Reports section' of this web page only.

Lymph nodes are often secondary to an infection and not from trauma. This lump is probably a local reaction to the trauma.

In all, unlikely to be a lymph node. Most probably related to a local reaction from the hit. However, I'd be able to specify after obtaining a picture/image for review.

I look forward hearing from you. Please don't worry, there doesn't seem to panic about at this time.

Regards
