Question: My grandmother is recently diagnosed with Urinary tract infection and I've got both Urine routine and Culture tests done for her. my current doctor suggested to take Niftas 100mg 3 times a day for 7 days based on attached reports. I request for a second opinion on whether the dosage is sufficient enough or if it needs any other better alternative medicines based off Culture report. please advise.

Brief Answer:
Yes the antibiotic is appropriate

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The antibiotic and its dosage is appropriate according to this report of culture and sensitivity. Other alternatives could have been trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole and ceftazidime.

Hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
