My Hamstring And Gluteus Muscles Start Aching At Night And

Question: My hamstring and gluteus muscles start aching at night and I get the uncontrollable urge to massage or stretch these muscles to obtain some relief and get some sleep. However, some nights the pain is so intense that I don't fall asleep all night. What could be the cause behind this? I suspect it's Restless Leg Syndrome. How can I get relief from this?
Brief Answer:
A few possibilities...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Yes, the aching muscles at night could be related to restless leg. It could also be a feature of nutrient deficiency as well as spinal condition. It is important these conditions are ruled out before starting restless leg syndrome treatment.
I recommend to visit a neurologist who after careful neurological examination will order necessary tests. Further treatment based on test results will be started. Restless leg syndrome treatment will also be initiated if all test results are normal by a neurologist.
Therefore it is appropriate that you visit a neurologist.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you need clarifications.
Regards
