Question: My husband came home pretty drunk. Stumbling and slurring and so on.... he took a shower and ate and is no where near sobered up. The question is he just now without me as his normal bedtime routine took a 2mg. Lorazepam. Should I be very worried?

Brief Answer:
Does not seem concerning

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for using the Ask a Doctor service.

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. I assume that he has already taken the dose of lorazepam by now. Although such medicines are not recommended to be taken alongside alcohol, I do not think that you need to panic if he has already taken the dose. Alcohol potentiates (increases) the action of lorazepam and he might sleep more. However, I do not think that something concerning would happen. Nevertheless, if in any case, things do not seem right, do not hesitate to seek urgent medical care from your nearest ER.
