Question: My husband gets purplish marks on his body, dime-like sizes. He has been diagnosed with Lyme disease in the past. From time to time, he had hot spells and cold spells,also.

Hello and welcome to "Ask a Doctor" service,

Skin rash can be related to past Lyme infection but there are other conditions that might cause skin rash as well. To better determine the cause of the rash it would be very helpful if you can upload a picture or two of the rash and also let me know of the following information:
- For how long has the rash been there and where is it exactly?
- Does it itch or hurt or cause any other discomfort?
- Other than feeling hot or cold has he checked his fever?
- Does he have any problem with joints or mouth lesions as well?
- Is there anything that affects the rash, make it worse or better?
- Anyone else at home or in contact with him that has rash?

Please let me know of the above information and if possible upload a few pictures so I can have a look at the rash.
