My Husband Has Been Diagnosed With Intrahepatic Cholangiocarcinoma , With

Question: My husband has been diagnosed with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma, with spread to the right side of the liver, and immediate area lymph glands. Stage 4a. He is getting a port-a-cath inserted next week and will begin chemo for 2 - 4 rounds of cisplatin and gemcitabine, with a scan after round 2, and surgery at some point to include removal of all of right liver and part of left, the bile duct, gallbladder and lymph nodes. Here is my question: Suddenly, his levels of 3 things have gone up. Alkaline phosphatase has jumped in 2 weeks from 83 to 158. His ALT/SGPT has jumped from 2- to 138, and his AST/SGOT has jumped from 22 to 100. What does this sudden jump mean? All other blood work is normal. Thank you so much.
