My Husband Has Been Taking Xarelto After His Hip Replacement

May be due to Tablet xarelto. Require further evaluation after consultation
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your query and here is my advice.
As per your history, brown urine indicates blood in urine. It may be due to Tablet xarelto.
As tablet xarelto is the blood thinner medication which is usually used to prevent blood clots after major surgery. But it may increases bleeding tendencies. So brown urine may be the side effect of tablet xarelto. Still kindly follow up with a bit more information to rule out other possibilities.
Please let me know does he have burning while urination, fever, abdominal pain?
For further assessment, as per my knowledge I would suggest you to do prothrombin time, international normalized ratio (INR), urine analysis, complete hemogram after detailed medical examination and consulting surgeon opinion. He may require dosage adjustment after consultation.
Along with that kindly watch for other symptoms like nose bleeding, bleeding through gums, black stools.
Hope I have answered your query and let me know if I can assist you further... Thank you.

Dr Shyam Kale

We will follow-up with his internal medicine doctors or Surgeon who performed the surgery as he just had the surgery back on April 30th of this year. His current dosage is 15 mg every twelve hours.
