My Husband Has Stage 4 Lung Cancer . He Had

Question: My husband has stage 4 lung cancer. He had surgery and they removed a 8.5 malignant tumor. 8 months later it was found that they missed one of the tumors thinking it was scar tissue. The tumor is 5.5 exact same place as the other. They are going to do cutting edge radiation and he is doing immunotherapy. What is his life expectancy? They tell us all different answers.
Brief Answer:
Lung cancer
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking...
Please note that everyone is different, every case has a different approach and outcome...
—There are many variables that can affect lung cancer survival.
And second, statistics regarding lung cancer survival are not necessarily as meaningful as they may have been just a few years ago, which can be a good thing. So, the life expectancy tends to generally more than what is being told or written...
The immunotherapy may help a lot the patient to live longer and better.
Let me know if I can assist you further...
Regards

You are giving me the same answer as everyone else.
In your experience with immunotherapy and cutting edge radiation, what has your patients outcome be?
After surgery in May, he hasn't had any treatment to follow up on the tumor (no chemo or radiation) they just started him on immunotherapy. He has a violent cough throughout the day, where he spits up a little blood. It seems like we are right back where we started the first time. I know this is becuase they didn't give him any chemo following up after his surgery. I know all patients get the chemo for this reason and they failed to schedule him. Now he has to go on disability becuase his cough is so horrific he can't deal with the public.
I think this is a lot worse then they are making this out to be. There is a good chance it has entered his throid, but the doctor said that is the least of our worries.
Please, shed some light for me. I need to prepare. You are a doctor and i am sure have had similar cases, please tell me more than I am being told

Hi again,
In my opinion, the decision for the treatment after surgery is taken from the doctor's end, looking at the general condition and clinical exams.
In my patients, the immunotherapy is proven as good results. So, it can be a very good treatment in his case, however, if it doesn’t work and the general conditions of the patient get worsen, then the prognosis is very poor, unfortunately.
He may have treatment for the symptoms or palliative radiation if his doctor agrees.
Please feel free to ask further.

Thank you, I so appreciate you being up front.
My last question, how will we know if the immunotherapy is working? He has recieved immunotherapy approx 3 times already and I have not witnessed any change what so ever just an increase in his cough.
What test will they run to see if it is working and how long do you have to recieve it in order for it to work?

Hi again
The control will be with CT scanner usually after the 4 cycles of immunotherapy, but you will see also the improvement in his symptoms if the therapy it’s working for him.

Thank you kindly for your opinion. It really helps.
Sadly, he has had 4 immunotherapy appointments and i do not see anything positive from him at all. His CT came back ok but his symptons haven't improved at all.
Today is his first day of cutting edge radiation. This is our last hope.
Have you dealt with anyone simular to my case, meaning they have had 4 immunotherapies and no change? What was the results?
