Brief Answer:
Steroids are adequate treatment

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

What type of vasculitis does he have? Can you also post the photo of the rash? What are his medicines and doses? If steroids tablets are helping in resolving the vasculitis, then some rash is not a problem. If some rash apppears, a steroidal preparation like betnovate can be applied twice a day for 3 days. It should help resolvethe rash.

In case, if vasculitis is progressing, then his treating surgeon will be better able to suggest. If steroids are not working, then cytotoxic immunosuppressive agents like azathioprine, cyclophosphamide are given. These are stronger drugs. Drink cleaner water to avoid any superimposing infections. If some pus etc is forming then antibiotics may need to be given.

Hope this helps.
