default
Posted on Mon, 27 Apr 2020
Question: My husband is 49 and when he pees, he has pee that keeps dribbling no matter how many times he shakes to remove the excess pee. It is frustrating to him and he does practice holding and stopping his pee (ALL THE TIME) but wants to know if theres any medication or herb he can take to get better. He says its gotten worse, is it due to age or can he fix this? Thank you

Brief Answer:
Urinary tract infection possible.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your query and here is my advice.

If he is having dribbling urine this can be an indication that he is probably having an urinary tract infection or prostate hypertrophy.
Firstly he should do an urine test and culture to check for infection.
If infection is present he may need to get treated according to antibiograme or empirically with bactrim.
If urine analysis is clear he may need to do a prostate ultrasound.

Hope I have answered the question.
