Question: My husband is 87 & has stool so dry & hard he cant push it out . he has managed to break off a few pieces. He has taken Dulcolax & Miralax . Would a Fleet's enema be appropriate to try?

Hi and welcome. Yes, it would be beneficial if laxatives didn't work. However, it should be regularly used, only when there is incomplete evacuation. Also, I suggest to take high fiber diet like with Bananas, papaya,berriesleafy veg etc would be of great help.
2. Make him drink plenty of water.
4. Psyllium / Ispaghula husk one teaspoon in a glass of water, 1 hour before food.
If there is no improvement, he should do colonoscopy. Wish you good health. Regards
