My Husband Was Recommended To Have A C5-6 Anterior Cervical
About cervical arthroplasty;
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking!
I have gone carefully through your concern and the MRI report attached.
The indication for surgical treatment of the cervical disc herniation and stenosis of the spinal canal is ; when analgesics or physiotherapy are not efficient in managing the pain or numbness.
So, you should have tried analgesics and physiotherapy for some months, than decide for disc arthroplasty.
It is not considered a difficult or risky intervention but you should know that the pain in most of the cases persists for some months after or may even not get better.
It means that not in all the cases is successful.
So, you should talk with the surgeon before about the probability of relapse than decide rather to perform it.
Hope the information will help.
Best wishes,
