My Husband’s Left Eye And Lip Began Swelling 5 Days

default

Question: My husband’s left eye and lip began swelling 5 days ago. We live in northern Wisconsin and have many insects including black flies, mosquitoes, bees, etc. It appears he has a bite behind his ear, but doesn’t remember getting it. I’m concerned because the swelling started slowly, and has continued, especially after he has been lying down. He has no fever, and seems to feel fine except for the swelling. Is there anything we can do? How long could this last?

Brief Answer:
He should meet an ID specialist and allergologist.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome in" Ask a Doctor".
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Please could you send me an attached picture of this part of face to define better the diagnosis.
This could be facial celulitis or an allergic reaction from the bite.
So I suggest to make an ultrasound of this swelling part and meet an ID specialist and allergologist.

Hope I have answered your query.
Regards.
