Question: My left testicle has been hurting on and off for the past 4 weeks. The pain isn’t that bad it’s just annoying. No other symptoms or palpable lumps. I am an athlete and sometimes it hurts worse the day after a workout

I am sorry to hear that you have pain on your left testicle. the most common cause of this pain would be varicocele on the left side. this is confirmed by a physical examination with a doctor and an ultrasound of the scrotum. the pain for a varicocele is a dull pain after a strenuous activity or standing for a long period of time. other considerations would be a small hernia in the groin that can also be confirmed with an ultrasound.

varicocele is not a life threatening condition it may worsen through time causing more pain more pain frequency and sometimes infertility.

for the meantime i would suggest to wear tight fitting underwear in the supporter during workouts until you see a doctor to evaluate you properly.

treatment for varicocele is primarily surgical where in we remove the veins what are dilated and causing problems in the testicle.
