My Mcv Was Slightly High, 100 And All Other Blood

Thanks XXXXXXX
Decrease alcohol consumption, taking folate acid and vitamin B12 supplement and eat healthy food may help some for your high MCV.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question Erfoud. Hope I can be of help for you today.
Through reading your query I would like to help you with this question. MCV (mean corpuscular volume) is high when it is above the upper limit of normal, which is typically >96 to 100 fl in adults. In adults common causes of high MCV without anemia include alcohol use. Acutely, alcohol lowers the serum folate level even in who are not truly folate deficient. The result requires a normal vitamin B12 level for accurate interpretation, RBC folate levels may be suppressed by concurrent vitamin B12 deficiency. So the measurement of the serum vitamin B12 level and folate assessment (with testing appropriate to acute or chronic alcohol use) will usually establish the appropriate diagnosis. Chronically alcoholism will damage your liver and your hematology. So you should try to decrease drinking alcohol step by step until you can quit it. In the meantime during decrease alcohol consumption, taking folate acid and vitamin B12 supplement and eat healthy food may help some for your high MCV.
I hope that can help you, and please let me know if you have any clarification or question about that, and I would be welcome to discuss it with you further. I Hope you have good health.
Best regards,
