Question: Hello, my mother is 59 years old and she is on diabetes and blood pressure medicine. she take Amaryl M2 twice daily along with Telma 40 and cardace 5mg daily. she is feeling very week from past few days and has no body strength. is there any medication or home remedy which can be used to restore her strength?

Hello ,

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Having weakness from a few days could be from an infection, maybe throat infection.
Since you have not mentioned such symptoms and there is past medical history of diabetes and hypertension, I will suggest a few basic tests to find any abnormalities in function of inner organs.

The blood tests include complete blood count, fasting blood sugar, HbA1C, Liver function test, kidney function test, lipid profile, serum electrolytes, vitamin B12, vitamin D levels, Chest Xray PA view, Urinalysis - routine and microscopy, ECG, BP measurement.

Caffeinated drinks can give energy but also raise blood pressure. So safer method in her case would be to do some yoga and meditation course.
Otherwise take lots of water (clean water)
Take becosule tablets one per day.
Anabolic steroid injection can also be taken as short term remedy from a doctor.

just to add...she also has throat infection from past few days as well.

So the weakness is due to throat infection. Since diabetes is in background and she has severe weakness, I would suggest that she has a chest X ray, sputum for culture and sensitivity and complete blood count, fasting blood sugar, HbA1C tests done. Medicine can be taken according to reports.

Kindly get back with reports. She may need antibiotics.
