My Mother Is Facing Problem With Some Sort Of Allergy

Question: My mother is facing problem with some sort of allergy in her fingers. Which is causing itching, little burns, stiffness and also observing some skin color change. This allergy is seen only on one hand(left) and on the other hand, thumb nail is increasing from the side.

This is mostly seen during summer season.
Please help.

Since when does she have this issue ?
Ans: Its been there from last 3-4 years.

Has she applied any medication for the same ?
Ans: Yes, she had consulted doctors in the local city and she was using below medications:
1. Clobenate-GM
2. Attaching Prescription.
3. Also she tried homeopathic treatment.

Does she have any history of allergies in past ?
Ans: No such allergies.

Thanks for the images,

I have seen the images. It appears to be fungal infection of the nail and fingers.

I would recommend you to stop the Clonenate. Start DK gel applying it twice daily .

There might be need for oral antifungal medication. For this, you may have to take her to the dermatologist.

Can you please tell more about the oral medication prescribed by Dr XXXXXXX Agrawal(sent over mail). Is it good to continue with those medications?

Do you suggest any dermatologist over healthcare magic to be best suitable for this infection?

Hi,

Thanks for writing back.

There is an antibiotic and a antacid medication which causes no harm when taken. I do not have enough literature to support that this work to cure the infection. I would recommend stopping them.

Yes you have to get her to consult a dermatologist. A physical examination and test to confirm the diagnosis. Also, you will need an hand written prescription for oral antifungals.

I would recommend visiting a dermatologist. Till then can apply the antifungal gel suggested. Only OTC drugs are advised online.
