Question: My mother suffers from severe dry cough. She takes medicines an syrup suggested by doctor and after few weeks this reoccurs.

Should she change the cooking oil, if so which one do you recommend? Is Olive oil the best to use?

Thanks for posting the query

Dry cough suggests of allergic in origin.

She should identify the allergen causing it and avoid it.

I prescribe Tab. MONTAIR LC 1 tablet 2 times a day for 5 days in my practice. this is available on prescription only.

If the symptoms still persists then she has to get chest Xray and sputum culture done to rule out the cause.
