My Mum Had A Flu Virus Which Caused Her To

Question: My mum had a flu virus which caused her to lose her voice. She has had her voice come and go for 3 weeks. But it is more gone than she can talk properly. She also has intermittent feeling something is stuck in her throat though not sore. She has no other symptoms.
I am worried to death it could be some kind of throat cancer. She has had rectal cancer 3 years ago and ovarian cancer 11 years ago. Do you see the cancer has come back? Please help asap I am really worried

Mum says when she swallows it sometimes feels like it is stuck but then it melts away. It doesn't make her choke or anything like that just feels like food has to melt away intermittently
Brief Answer:
Need to rule out throat cancer
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query. I understand your concerns.
3 weeks history of hoarseness of voice and sticking sensation in throat warrants further evaluation by ENT surgeon and a laryngoscopy to rule out any possibility of throat cancer. There are benign causes too but as it is 3 weeks we need to evaluate it.
I don't think it is related to rectal or ovarian cancer coming back. However, if doctor finds paralysis of one side of voice box we need to do CT scan of chest to rule out anything there causing voice box nerve paralysis.
Hope this helps.
Regards
