Brief Answer:
About throat problems;
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking!
I can understand your concern regarding your mother's health.
As she lost the voice after the flu it is very likely to be due to viral laryngitis but I would suggest seeing an ENT if it persists more than 3 weeks.
If she does not smoke, the chances of laryngeal cancer are very low. Furthermore, ovarian and rectal cancers do not give metastasis in the throat.
So do not get worried!
If there is no pathology in the throat, an ultrasound of the thyroid gland should be done.
Hope the information will help.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Best wishes,
Dr. Mirjeta

Brief Answer:
About throat pathology;
Detailed Answer:
Hi again,
It is probably due to thyroid nodules.
She needs to see a physician for a clinical examination. Better to check directly with an ENT.
