Question: My partner and I had sex felt extremely unlubricated. It caused some swelling as well as some open wounds and three pimple like bumps on my penis. Is this normal? We also continued to have sex even though it was irritated.

It appears that the penile head is quite inflamed in your case, called Balanitis.
This can be caused by friction, allergy, fungal, and bacterial infections.

Here are a few things you can try at home to help reduce inflammation.
- Keep the area clean and dry. And continue using antibacterial cream.
- You can also use Lotrimin antifungal ointment thrice daily for 10 days.
- Use mild soap and water
- Avoid sexual activity until the inflammation and redness have subsided.
- Wear loose-fitting breathable cotton undergarments

If you do not notice any improvement in symptoms or symptoms worsen in the next 24 - 48 hours, then follow up with the primary care provider.
